Children aged 5-9 are encouraged
to try out for our Pre-Leap and Leap programs which are developmental
for competitve. Leap stands for Lets Evaluate Athletes Progress. If your
child is interested in this program, try-outs are held in the summer. SILVER
Gymnasts age 6 & 7 work on strength training, flexibility, and gymnastic
skills on each of the four events. There is no competition at this level,
but rather is preparation for Gold. Training is 4 hours per week. GOLD
Gymnasts age 7 to 9 continue their strength, flexibility, and skill development.
This level prepares for the first level of competitive.Training is 8
hours per week. COMPETITIVE
By invitation only. Fundamentals developed in leap are perfected, with
each gymnast working toward their own specific goals. Skills are put
into combination to create routines on each of the four events. Gymnasts
advance with skill acheivement from Class 1 through to National Stream.
There are approximately 4 fun meets, with the possibility of 1 or 2 sanctioned
events (Southern Zones, Provincials, Westerns, Nationals) occuring between
January to May. Competitive athletes train between 12 and 26 hours per
